I’m a Doctoral Candidate at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, specializing in Public History. My primary research is focused on issues of authority, accuracy and authenticity in living history interpretation. My research continues to be inspired by my 16 years of experience in historic museum and park settings.I am also an active public historian and currently work as the Michigan History Day Senior Manager for the Historical Society of Michigan. I assisted with set-up and programming for such annual events as the Father's Day Car Show, Civil War Muster Weekend, and Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration. I also developed, oversaw and evaluated program development for a weekly YMCA day-camp which visited the park with 15-20 5-8 year-olds.
