Senior leadership team member responsible for organisational development and playing a focal role in the transformation of BMT to a sustainable and socially purposeful organisation, while leading on and delivering strategic projects and change initiatives.◾Leading on the embedding of sociocracy across BMT, a democratised approach to decision making, communication between teams, and supporting the agency of teams◾Led the input into a major commercial tender as part of a consortium, coordinating the input of multiple internal team members, establishment of cost basis, and time cost estimates for work packages◾Co-ordinated a major redesign of the organisation impacting 50% of the workforce, developing the business case and structure proposal, liaising with external HR advice, communicating with staff, and developing and overseeing the consultation timetable ◾Internal lead on a NLHF funded project to establish a baseline for the organisation moving forward, coordinating the work of business strategy consultants alongside market research, theory of change and evaluation, as well as a novel approach through the use of a citizens jury, ensuring that all work strands were integrated to deliver an iterative approach to strategy and planning work for the organisation.

In this role, I lead the teams responsible for the management and conservation of the collection, and manage the Museum Collection Centre building, a c. 9000 sq m building conaining almost one million objects, in order to support the stewardship and use of the collection as part of the work of Birmingham Museums Trust, a nine-site organisation.◾Departmental planning and budget management, and supporting wider organisational planning◾Management of Public Art on behalf of Birmingham City Council◾Management of the Conservation and Collections teams, and ad hoc project teams◾Led on large-scale inventory and decant programmes◾Led on the planning of a new collections storage facility◾Managed the impact of the HS2 scheme on the Museum Collection Centre◾Supporting organational change initiatives, including the democratisation of decision-making within the organisation

I secured a National Lottery Heritage Funded Fellowship as part of the 2022 / 23 cohort. The Clore Fellowship is a programme of tailored leadership development for a cohort of exceptional leaders in the cultural sector. The Fellowship Programme is for leaders who have ambition and vision, and can show clearly how they might take their leadership to the next level. The Fellowship is a bespoke, tailored programme, which for me included:◾ ‘Deep-dives’ into topics including Finance, Strategy, Governance and Change◾ A secondment with Upswing, a contemporary circus company in London supporting them with strategy and business planning◾Self-directed courses including Impact, Storytelling, and Emotional Intelligence for Leadership

◾Responsible for all conservation related aspects, with regard to building, collections, and exhibits. ◾Led on the development of policies and strategies for conservation and collections care◾Worked in partnership with the curatorial, design teams on object selection and exhibit design. ◾Advised on relevant architectural elements, environmental monitoring and control, showcase development and object mounting.
