I’ve received my graduate degree in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering in 2005 from the University of Aveiro. I am part of Portugal Telecom Inovação’s Platforms and Services group since 2005, a group focused on the research and development of cutting edge telecommunications services. The main focus of my work from 2005 to 2007 was JavaEE (the former J2EE) technologies, with particular interest in the areas of Application Servers, Web Services and Business Process Management (BPEL and jBPM). I’ve been an active contributor for several Eurescom and European Projects in areas such as SOA architectures and Service Delivery Platforms. From 2007 until 2013, I was strongly involved in PT Inovação’s IPTV team, focused on the research and implementation of value added services on top of the IPTV platform MEO. During this period, I’ve performed a significant role in the construction of product MEO, one of the most advanced and innovative IPTV services in the world. I started as a software research engineer and ended up as team leader and senior software developer of the MEO (Portugal Telecom) and Oi (Brazil) IPTV development team. I’ve developed exceptional IPTV skills, with particular interest in Microsoft Mediaroom application/services development and operations. In January 2013 I’ve accepted a new challenge, I’m currently leading the mobile development team responsible for MEO Go, a successful multi-screen and multi-platform second screen mobile application.
