Systems Administration and Operation: Evaluate, develop, implement and manage network security hardware including, but not limited to servers, security appliances and network monitoring hardware and software. .Evaluate, recommend, implement, manage, and maintain encryption technologies related to communications and portable hardware devices, verify configurations and compliance with agency encryption policies and procedures. Review and assess cloud computing infrastructure, virtual servers and other devices for industry standard security configurations and security risks.Work with external customers planning and developing connectivity to infrastructure hardware. Participate with agency’s development and security teams to provide connectivity to agency resources and applications.Consult and strategize on the design of network and infrastructure configuration. Information Assurance: Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of agency’s applications by providing guidance on security incidents, security features and/or risks in a given application. Monitor and track compliance and document incident handling responses on the applications. Conduct Information System Security Engineering activities at all layers of the application deployment. Complete Vulnerability scans, Information System Security audits, analysis, risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, intrusion detection/prevention and log monitoring of computing resources. Ensure agency technical staff remain in compliance with industry best security practices (ISO 27000, NIST) on hardware, software, network, and development design.Elections Security: Participate as part of a team with the Agency CISO and Project Management Team to assist with the development of elections security and best practices for technology and applications.
