I'm a student at the University of Rochester, earning my Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with an electrical and computer engineering minor. I've been studying with the goal of designing and building prosthetics that are inexpensive and accessible to those who need them. Since arriving at U of R, I've explored several areas of mechanical engineering independently, through classes, and by leading projects. This past year, two other students and I studied the self-healing characteristics and composition of 17th-century Bermudian daub, and we are currently in the process of publication of the results we've found.When I'm not in school during the year, I work as a STEM specialist at a summer day camp, where I get to teach science to kids ages 4-14 in a way that makes them engaged and interested. I also volunteer with STEM Initiative to bring hands-on science to kids in Rochester city schools. In addition, I'm continuing research from the past year and separately conducting research as an assistant under the guidance of my professor at U of R.I was self-employed over the summers as a landscaper, I've worked on e-bike conversions, I play the flute and enjoy woodworking, and I'm learning ASL.
