As a Quality Analyst, I was responsible for high cost orders after they shipped. The Quality department was responsible to ensure that Aetna fulfilled their promises in providing the member’s medications when needed, and to resolve any issues in the fulfillment of that goal. This included coordinating with multiple departments and contracted companies (i.e., UPS) if the member did not receive what was promised for when it was promised. This included investigation of events that led up to any mistakes, issuing variances to employees who made the mistakes (if any), and resolving the issue directly with the member and/or member’s doctor’s office. We were also responsible for high-tier escalations coming directly from plan sponsors and social media complaints, which could become very serious situations. Furthermore, I was also responsible for the On-Call, after hours Line every 4-5 weeks. This role included the responsibility to resolve member complications after Aetna Specialty Pharmacy had closed. This required resourcefulness and assertiveness to achieve results when most of our typical resources were not available. Our department was the backbone of Aetna Specialty Pharmacy and were the GO-TO team if any major problem would arise. Additionally, I worked in the pharmacy warehouse packing and shipping high cost medications, which was a responsibility given to the most trusted employees of the pharmacy.

I joined Aetna, Inc. as an Inbound/Outbound Queue Associate in 2013. In this role I worked in a call center setting where I was responsible to enter data provided by our member’s or their doctor’s in order to achieve prior authorization for prescribed medications found on the National Precertification List. This included having the ability to communicate proficiently (listening and dialoguing) and the responsibility to input data correctly in order to ensure results within given turn around times. I specifically worked in the Medicare department, which was an significant department due to the sensitivity of Medicare regulations and the implications for Aetna if mistakes were made. I achieved maximum results in this department, and in 2015 transitioned to the Quality Analyst role at Aetna Specialty Pharmacy.
