As a foreign language teacher, my classroom has evolved to accommodate and incorporate new technologies in my five years. Websites, Diigo, streaming video and sound bytes, MP3 players, flash drives, burnable CDs, blogs, E-Pals and data projectors have all brought Latin America into my classroom in ways that were impossible 10 years ago. We routinely read newspapers in Spain, listen to Central American reporters’ radio broadcasts, and use Diigo to read texts about South American architectural and cultural topics. These technologies enrich the tangibility of their cultural, culinary, geographical, historical, political, environmental, and musical inquiries and studies. As a 21st century teacher with a global perspective, I take pride modeling effective use of technological resources to create exceptional educational products for all disciplines.
