Herman has a long career in communication and marketing. He has worked as sales manager, marketing manager and communication manager in profit and non-profit organisations. Herman got his PhD degree at Sheffield Hallam University (UK) at the faculty of Education. Social involvment:Herman Schimmel is president of the KCZB (www.kczb.nl). He is chair of the Rotary Foundation Committee in district 1550 and Knowledge Manager of the Rotary Learning Institute of the Netherlands. In his residence Elst, Herman Schimmel is an active member of Rotaryclub Elst-Over-Betuwe. Music:Herman Schimmel also studied Choral Conducting with Eduard Nieland and got his degree in 1986. He followed several masterclasses and workshops for singing and choral conducting in Engeland with Peter O'Brien and Emma Kirkby. Herman Schimmel is organist and choirmaster of the Protestantse Gemeente Huissen, conductor of “Dagkoor De Ruimte” in Elst. He organises choral projects, gives choral trainings and is available for consultancy in a Choral Society organisation.
