Working on an Innovate UK funded programme with Northumberland County Council to explore non-technical barriers to reducing emissions in agriculture and forestry. Strategy development through the gathering of insights from stakeholders and co-design of solutions that will feed into future council policy or project pilots.

Fixed contract to design and deliver an innovation accelerator to support solutions to address sustainability/energy and ageing (work, home and play), funded by the North of Tyne Combined Authority. Bringing together stakeholders and service users across a wide breadth of sectors to collaborate and think differently around some of society's biggest challenges. Delivering funding and support to up to 50 businesses to develop and test their ideas and explore revenue models and new markets. Working in collaboration with academia, industry, public and voluntary sector stakeholders to encourage cross sector partnerships, co-design and innovation.

Supporting innovation and growth in the NE digital health/care tech, digital and life sciences sectors.(Fixed term ERDF funded contract). Growing a regional cluster that brought together multiple stakeholders (local authorities, NHS Trusts, industry and academia) across healthcare and wider health determinants in order to identify unmet needs and potential innovation strategies (eg. health inequalities, welfare, skills, healthy homes, social housing, access to services, health on the high street, connectivity and digital inclusion, creative health, EDI and foreign language barriers, pharmacy, optometry, dentistry, mental health etc.).Participation in various regional steering groups around digital transformation, adoption of technologies and digital inclusion/access. Organisation of activities and regular events to support knowledge sharing, best practice, collaborative and creative thinking and explore digital innovation across use/sharing of data, AI, medtech, security and immersive technologies.

Architect managing all stages of projects from concept/design through planning, building regulations, project tendering, programming and delivery on sites in the UK and France. Various sectors and scales of project but latterly residential projects for private clients in the North East region, including planning consultation work with Green Belt, Heritage and Conservation Areas.

Working alongside the UTC's leadership team to promote and build relationships for this exciting new education opportunity (for 14-18yr olds) across the North East region. Introducing the concept of the UTC and its DIGITAL / BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE specialisms to recruit its first students and foster a range of support from NE industry (eg. apprenticeships / work experience / mentoring / practical projects).

Campaigning against the attempted closure of Ponteland Middle School (one of the best performing schools nationally) and the conversion of 9 parish and rural schools from a 3 tier to 2 tier system. With the backing of local councillors and over 2000 parents and residents in the community. Detailed research and reporting on the challenges for small rural village schools, educational outcomes, the effects on catchment areas/feeder schools and examination of the consultation process and loopholes. Resulted in changes being made to subsequent DofEd White Papers and guidance for making changes to schools and improvements in the public consultation process.

From the frustration of 2 mums not being able to find good value and quality holiday activities for our own children, we decided to set up our own. We wanted to create an ambitious offer from sports, cookery, art, bike-maintenance and coding, to pottery, American football and slime-making! Probably the toughest/most stressful thing I've ever done and on top of my normal full-time workload was simply not sustainable. But what an amazing experience - making me fully appreciate the hard work done by the teaching/childcare profession!

Listed building and heritage detailing and design of extension and refurbishment projects.

Proof reading of translations (mainly technical/clinical trials etc.) and accounts support for parents' business. Foreign languages have always been part of my life.
