Located within two miles of the Grest Plantation where she was born in MIdway, Georgia in 1848, the Center facilitates space for Historical Reflection, Community Dialogue and Writing, & Environmental Justice Advocacy. We host quarterly conferences and seminars relating to those factors that influenced Susie Baker King Taylor to become a great women, i.e. nature, spirituality, natural ecosystems, education, and the empowerment of young women and girls. Hermina Glass formerly worked for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources - Historic Preservation Division in African American Programs where she investigated historic sites, engaged African American communities in preservation advocacy, coordinated special programs, and served as assistant editor of Reflections, a publication of the Georgia African American Historic Preservation Network.
