Projects: Mature Fine Tailings (MFT) Tailings Retrofit Trains 1 & 2 Extraction Trains 3 & 4 Early Pump House (EPH) Tailings Transfer Plant (TTP)Accomplishments: Led/managed Engineering & Procurement Contractor’s purchasing and expediting activities for the Tailings Transfer Plant Project within Horizon Oil Sands that included the supervision of procurement support staff assigned to me within the Project. This Project is being implemented to increase the production capacity of Synthetic Crude Oil for the company. Also participated with Contractor’s purchasing personnel in all the procurement cycle from the requisition stage, scope development, source selection, RFQ’s, bids evaluation, negotiations, award recommendations, until purchase order placement. A total of fifty (50) packages for Electrical, Piping, Mechanical and Instrumentation parts were executed. Those fifty (50) PO’s represented a total commitment value of ~ $60 million. The original control estimate was ~ $62 million for a cost savings of around $2 million.• Executed the procurement process for the Major Projects group including scope development, supply market research, pre-qualifications, bid analysis, award, administration and close-out of Purchase Orders and Contracts.• Coordinated and managed EPC Contractor’s purchasing and expediting activities by developing appropriate procurement strategies, including the creation and issuance of materials/equipments/spare parts RFQ’s and Purchase Orders.• Maintained and managed optimum inventory levels at the Central Warehouse. • Negotiated Purchase Orders with vendors ensuring stock replenishment were provided in a cost effective and timely manner.
