My senior capstone project mission was to integrate telemetry and data processing to a spray gun for quality control and corrosion prevention. By acquiring data on certain spray painter parameters, e.g. spray distance, spatial orientation, trigger depression, etc. we can predict the level of dry film paint thickness after application. Knowing this thickness is precious information for corrosion prevention especially within the Navy. For our innovative paint system I was mainly responsible for the following:- Sensor communication and data acquisition- Developing methodology to interpret and utilize sensor data- Supporting our prototyping and machining of custom parts for user interface- Optimization of code for improved data acquisition rates

During my time with Wiley my responsibility was to assist my senior engineers in the development of their UAV flight systems. This included some of the following:- 3-D modeling of components where no existing models were available- Designed and modeled custom components using industry standards and tolerances, along with FEA simulation for typical flight loads. Some examples are custom mounting brackets and interface panels.- Researched component installation techniques for the assembly and repair of UAV wingtips.

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) hosts a Human Powered Vehicle Competition (HPVC) every year for students all across the US as well as internationally. In the spring of 2017, I competed along with the rest of my team in Cookeville, Tennessee, representing George Mason University with our very own human powered vehicle. Below you'll find some of my contributions to the team in our months of preparation.- Responsible for the CAD modeling and design of our vehicle while making modifications as necessary- For competition compliance I ran the FEA stress simulations for different materials and vehicle designs- Contributed to the technical writing for our final report submitted to the industry judges
