Hernan Lopez is the founder of Owl & Co, a management consulting firm servicing media, tech and the attention economy. Before Owl & Co, he was the founder of Wondery, which he grew to become the largest storytelling podcast company in the world. Under Lopez’s leadership as CEO, Wondery produced hit shows like Dirty John, Business Wars, American History Tellers, Gladiator, and many more. Lopez was instrumental in bringing many of Wondery’s podcasts to television. He is the Executive Producer on the TV shows WeCrashed, Dr Death, The Shrink Next Door, American Sports Story, and Dying For Sex. Amazon acquired Wondery in 2021. Prior to Wondery, Hernan scaled and ran Fox International Channels, a $3bn division of Fox (now Disney). During his tenure as COO and then CEO, FIC launched hundreds of entertainment and documentary channels around the world under the Fox, FX, National Geographic, Fox Life, Star and other brands and their digital extensions, oversaw production companies, and pioneered the worldwide simultaneous release of a TV show with "The Walking Dead" in partnership with AMC in the US.Hernan Lopez's passion for business and philanthropy has been the undercurrent of his work. He is a Founding Governor of The Podcast Academy, an organization that supports podcasters and advances the medium's cultural merit. Through programs including The Ambies, they celebrate, inspire, and connect creators worldwide, while attracting new audiences to their work.In addition, he is the Founder & Chairperson of the Hernan Lopez Family Foundation, a non-profit organization seeks to promote diversity in leadership through grants, training, and mentorship including a Fellowship now in its fourth year. Lopez previously served on the board of GLAAD, and now serves on the board of the StartOut.A native of Argentina, Lopez moved to Miami in 1997 where he obtained his MBA from the University of Miami. Today, Hernan and his family call Los Angeles their home.
