Hernan is an executive consultant/advisor enabling profitable growth at SaaS tech companies from early stage (pre-seed, seed) through later stage (Series C, D and M&A). Prior to that, he was the founder and CEO of iTOi.ai: the first company using AI to professionalize instant user-generated videos that help businesses grow, which he sold after 4 years and hundreds of satisfied customers.He is a native of Medellin (Colombia) where he grew up playing competitive Tennis. Hernan is the first Colombian to ever win a junior South American Championship. Hernan later played on the ATP tour before moving to the US to play College Tennis. He graduated with honors as an Electrical Engineer and is a Latino Entrepreneur Fellow from Stanford University's GSB. Previously, Hernan was Head of Worldwide Sales for SDM & NFV at Cisco systems, Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Software Applications Business at Alcatel-Lucent Americas. Prior to joining the Alcatel-Lucent Americas sales leadership team, Hernan was a GM of the mobile applications business unit based in Paris (France) Throughout his career, he has had roles as a Software Developer, Sales Engineer, Technical Support Manager, Product Manager, Business Development Director. Sales Vice-President and General Manager in the Mobile Software space. Hernan has lived and worked in Latin America, Europe, Asia and the United States, making him a seasoned international executive who has successfully managed multicultural and multi-disciplinary teams across different geographies. He is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French.Hernan has been granted 3 patents in the Cloud Video applications SW and HW domains. He is a tech thought leader, as guest in industry panels, keynote speeches and interviews in major publications like Businessweek, Wireless Review, Pando Daily, TechRepublic, CNET and TheNextWeb among others. He is a highly sought after expert consultant for ThirdBridge and Alphasights, which serve clients like Bain Consulting, McKinsey, BCG, Blackstone, and TPG among others. Hernan's wanderlust has taken him to 71 countries. He loves to play tennis and to drink coffee made of top-quality coffee beans: Colombian of course.
