Managed assigned vendors based both in the United States and UK. Maintained inventory, including sub-contract budgets of $25M annually. Managed 2 Planners and a Buyer. Responsible for delivering >1000 different part numbers and kits in support of production plans. Ensured both raw materials (casting, forgings, sheet metal, and bar stock) and finished goods materials were delivered on time. Liaison between operations and supply chain.Additional duties include: Monitored cycle counts & inventory turns to keep inventory cost low; increased cash on-hand.Managed supplier relationships, Tracked performance on cost, quality & delivery. Managed inventory levels in-house and at 3rd party logistics warehouse.Project managed transition plans for Make/Buy, as parts were being out-sourced.Indirectly supervised design, manufacturing, supply quality, supplier development engineers and buyers in launching new suppliers and engineering changes.Daily reporting on materials issues that effected production to V.P. of Manufacturing, Operations, Transportation, Manufacturing, and Quality Managers.Managed production planning in SAP. Eliminated MRP exceptions, adjusted material schedules to meet inventory levels.AccomplishmentsReduced inventory cost $3M by effective scheduling, planning production & shipments of materials.Increased delivery performance by 30%, which lead to reduction in overtime hours worked.Reduced scrap $600K annually. Moved in-house manufacturing (make) to out-sourcing (buy).Negotiated delayed shipments of material.
