After many years of home building, I was honored to be sought out as a founding Director of the yet to be formed Pavillion Bank. Although I had no previous banking experience I had extensive dealings with commercial bankers through my land development/home construction business. From a customer point of view, I knew exactly what kind of banker I wanted to be and determined to become just that: CARING, TRUSTED, INNOVATIVE and considered a PARTNER to my clients.Although most of my time is currently spent with my SBA-Capital clients, owners or investors of hotels, car washes and other brick and mortar businesses, I maintain an important alliance with Pavillion, continuing to provide my SBA lending expertise to our commercial customers.

Right out of college I started building homes and acquiring property for both residential and commercial development. We built over 2000 luxury homes with an average price of $500,000 (around one million in today’s dollars), developed over 2000 residential lots and over 100 acres of commercial land for retail and business development. Starting this business at such a young age was like drinking right out of the fire hose and I wouldn’t do anything different. I not only learned about land development and construction, I laid the foundation for the next 30+ years of my career. I met the folks that would become a network that still serves my clients and me today. I was led into banking because I devoted many years to developing great and trusting relationships with bankers to fund my projects. I learned the value of being a trusted advisor because I counted on my trusted resources to help me make good decisions. People gave to me so I learned the value of giving back to my community.Was it easy? No. But it was invaluable. Every day of the rest of my career started with the first piece of land that I purchased and the first home that I built.
