At the age of 19, I started Beats Entertainment Group as a solo DJ. I performed at weddings, clubs, corporate parties, birthday parties, and any event that needed music and a voice with some initiative.I grew the DJ'ing portion of the business and managed up to three DJ's at a time. I then started a promotional side of the business where I booked music artists to play concerts on my college campus, including some artists signed by major record labels. I learned about listening to the voice of the customer, project management, sales, marketing, managing budgets, working with others, working under pressure (most brides only get one big day), and the value of building strong relationships. Ultimately I sold this business to pursue a career in operations.
