Yad Vashem selected us to re-conceptualise, re-architect, and re-program a whole new scalable infrastructure for an organizational & public international knowledge portal, integrating the various enterprise systems in the organization. For over 3 years, I had the privilege of leading (and actively participating in) a team of analysts, database administrators, developers, designers and media and content publishers. Oversaw and established the technology roadmap and a robust IT infrastructure serving 700 employees as well as multitudes of local and global public users of the YadVashem portal. For 70 years YadVashem has gathered, protected, digitized and curated huge amount of information (Terabytes of unstructured and structured data). Our clustered, load-balanced and scalable infrastructure, maximized the accessibility to this vast volume of information in the YadVashem archival collections, and enabled an augmented (by 3rd party complementary services such as Maps, Taxonomies, Thesaurus, etc.), user-friendly and accurate searchability for the huge number of unstructured testimonials as well as structured vast amount of historical records in extensible databases , through a secured public and private portal and achieved dramatic performance improvement and extreme workloads. In my early career in traditional legacy IT, I have played all roles from system engineering (IBM), programming, system analysis to project management. Expertised in Financials, Accounting, Retail, Marketing, Logistics, Customer Relationship (CRM), Human Resources (HR) and Enterprise resource management systems (ERP). But above all my favorites have always been, Infrastructure frameworks for enhancing the software development life cycle productivity, as well as the internals of various operating systems such as IBM Mainframes, S/3x and AS/400 iSeries, Digital Vax/Unix, and Databases: Oracle, MS SQL Server, IBM DB2. Usually became a “go to” person around complex IT projects and high volume architectures in large scale mission critical projects, serving global enterprises spanning Asia, Europe, and the USA, such as ISCAR Group, ISFAR Sony, Tadiran Telecom, Chemipal Pharmaceuticals. During 1995 I complemented my skills in legacy systems and traditional technologies with JEE/Java and MS.NET technologies, and founded my own IT consulting and professional services firm: OPT Software Research & Development Labs /OPTinity eSolutions, providing IT consulting, software development, project management, and enterprise integration services to corporates and top-priority technology initiatives.
