With a background in mathematics & SW Engineering and after close to 20 years working in the digital innovation space for large multi-nationals working across Europe, Australia and Japan I joined the University of Technology Sydney to change the university’s ability to engage positively with the private sector.I Founded UTS Rapido, an R&D Engineering and Technology Consultancy supporting our customer’s R&D and innovation strategies, and continue to lead the strategy, operations and growth of UTS Rapido which currently employs over 30 professional engineering staff (SW, Mechatronic and UX) supported by contracts with industry. I Established UTS Rapido’s capability to develop and deliver complex and innovative software and/or mechatronic solutions as well as its capability in user experience (broadly and including for driving innovation and technology development activities). Operating as an R&D consultancy, UTS Rapido has many funded projects with private and public organisations, across many sectors such as mining, manufacturing, biomedical and health, defence, agtech and transport.At UTS, I also established key parternships with industry (including the university's 1st & only Institute jointly launched with an industry partner, Navantia - Defence sector) and led the planning & launch of UTS ProtoSpace, a $15M advanced 3D Printing facility.
