Working as a Senior bridge Engineer as part of the joint Engineering consultant between Speri S.p.A. and Tecne - Autostrade d'Italia.Rehabilitation and strengthening of bridges:Executing the bridges and viaducts as part of the national Recovery and resilience Plan or "Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza (PNRR)". The scope is focused on checking and reviewing the capacity of the bridges and viaducts according to the current codes as a primary step. It also includes proposing and executing the remedies, rehabilitation and strengthening interventions to achieve the required capacities for all the bridges and viaducts to achieve a resilient and sustainable national highway network.Rail Baltica High-Speed Railway:Independent design review and calculation check of bridges and viaducts of the Rail Baltica high speed railway project (as a partner with 3TI progetti). Mainly occupied with long span bridges with complex geometry and design aspects, performing full design review and calculation check of the bridges at all design stages, developing all required analysis, calculation models and verifications to guarantee the robustness and integrity as required for signing off the bridges.

Iraqi 1200 KM long High-Speed Railway and Highway:Involved in the preparation of the structures part of the prefeasibility and feasibility study of ca.1200 km long Highway-Railway major infrastructure project to connect the New Grand Al Faw port in the South of Iraq to the Turkish border in the north.The project included preliminary, detailed design, prequalification and management of contractors.The 17 billion USD contract is performed along with high-profile subconsultants in Italy and Iraq as well as holding bi-monthly meetings with the Iraqi authorities to coordinate and approve every detail of the project.The major national project aims to develope and modernize the Iraqi Transport network to support and strengthen the socio-economic development plans of the country including the opening of the Grand Al Faw port in 2028.Bridges for Nasiriyah road Interchanges:Performed the preliminary and detailed design of bridges for 2 major road interchanges elevating the heavily trafficked highway above the local roads. The prestressed precast bulb tee beams of the superstructure of the simply supported 5-span bridges are supported by 4 piers and 2 abutments resting on piled foundations.The fast-track project involved close collaboration with the contractor and few rounds of adjustments and optimization to reach the most optimum solution that satisfies the client, the municipality of Nasiriyah and the contractor.Al-Zaytoun steel arch Bridge in Nasiriyah:Project Manager for the design review of the Al-Zaytoun Bridge crossing over the Euphrates River with a Steel arch main span of 186 m along with 10 smaller spans of 25 m.The design review process included very preliminary collaboration with the designer/contractor to improve the quality of the design and the overall project to meet the requirements of the adopted American standards.Prepared the structural clauses several successful bids for projects in Italy in collaboration with other cosultants.

Performed independent Category 3 design checks for the Viaducts and Culverts along the £98 billion HS2 project as part of a joint venture with Jacobs for contract C2C3. Developed FE models and spreadsheets to structurally analyse the Structures globally and locally applying all possible loading and checking the capacity of all the elements of the structure under all possible loading effects. Issued comments and liaised with the designer about failures and possible adjustments in order to certify the design for each Structure.Performed Independent design checks of complex bridges as part of the proof Engineering of the A$4.8 billion major Road interchange between West Connex and Sydney airport. Developed FE model for 8 spans, curved, skewed composite bridge with 6 Steel box girders to check the capacity of the elements of the road bridge under all possible loading effects.

Analyzed the dynamic responses of Bridges for High-Speed Railway with a case study bridge from the Bothnia-line railway in the middle of Sweden. Studied the effects of soil-structure interaction, along with other factors, on the Bridge's dynamic behavior through comparing results from the field measurements with those of the finite element models.Performed extensive Finite element modelling of the bridge and surrounding soil using Abaqus and studied many modelling alternatives to reach the most optimal, accurate and time efficient 3-D model to simulate the real behavior of the bridgePerformed the field measurements as part of the KTH lab team acquiring field experience regarding the measurement of the accelerations of the bridge under the controlled forced vibration of a hydraulic load shaker designed at KTH lab.Used ARTeMIS and Matlab programs to reconstruct the real behavior of the bridge and compare it to the 3-D FE models.Assisted in teaching several finite element courses for bachelor and master’s degree classes.
