Research focusing on the drivers of inequalities in outcomes for children and young people. Supporting research on a range of health behaviours and outcomes for the NIHR-funded Applied Research Collaboration (East of England), with a particular focus on food inequalities among school-aged children.

ESRC-funded PhD studentship uses large datasets and quasi-experimental methods to explore how the environments that children face interact with their skills to determine school success, including research on teacher grading biases, early years pedagogies, and school suspensions and absences in England and Wales.

EML delivers policy and economics training to government departments, devolved administrations, and other public sector bodies. I help to deliver the Graduate Training Programme for His Majesty’s Treasury, including supporting the delivery practice policy proposals to a panel of Treasury officials.

Modules included: Advanced Statistics for Educational Research (incl. R and Stata statistical packages); Analysing Education Policy (econometrics and causal inference); Statistical Computing and Data Science in Education; International Education Finance; Educational Justice. GPA 4.0.

Ark Bolingbroke Academy is a four-form entry comprehensive school and the highest-performing non-selective school in the inner-city London Borough of Wandsworth. I was a mathematics teacher for pupils aged 11-17 from 2018-21 and my role included curriculum design and pastoral responsibilities.

Teach First places teachers in challenging schools across England and Wales. All observations in my NQT year received an ‘Outstanding’ rating. I led the PruGOals program for the school, helping 12 students from low-income families build their confidence and wellbeing through training for a cycling event.

Try This… is a pro bono education and skills-exchange project reaching over 500 people per year. The project has run annually since 2013 and has won a number of prizes including Dorset Group Volunteer of the Year award (2014). It continues today under the custodianship of Dorset County Council.
