The External Programmes Department at ACS delivers evening and weekend courses in English to children and adults. In this role I planned and delivered 1-1 and group lessons including Business English, phonics for 6+, academic skills and toddler classes. I also worked alongside colleagues to deliver varied content for vacation schools. My role also included proposing and planning for the launch of new programmes.

In addition to my day to day duties I also developed a Leadership Programme for sessional staff and assisted in the recruitment and training of those staff (over 60 people) including co-ordinating a residential and delivering sessions on volunteer management, impact measurement and working with young people. In order to record and measure the success of our programmes I used Salesforce data and other impact measurement tools to report to senior management and external partners such as schools and universities. I built relationships with university partners and representing ReachOut at university events as well as delivering volunteer training to corporate and university volunteers. As a Settlement Research I reviewed existing routes for safe sleep messages to parents in the Glasgow area, focusing on parents defined as young or in ‘hard to reach’ groups and developed recommendations for the Scottish Cot Death Trust. These were presented in a report which detailed our research findings. In this role I also took on additional administrative tasks as in above position.
