Systems Architect with an established record of best-practice-oriented solutions within enterprise healthcare, now with new and growing skills in Microsoft Azure, Terraform, and Ansible.Currently serving as the primary SME and architect of a Citrix SDX/VPX environment and as general solutions architect for various projects and platforms within the IT organization. Primary responsibilities include consulting on and designing new front-end services for applications, maintaining firmware and code for both physical and virtual instances, and documenting and automating services and processes within the Citrix ADC environment overall. I also mentor several other members of our core team on operations within Citrix ADC, so that they can better learn the product and assist with day-to-day operations. Other recent work centers upon better automating the Citrix ADC environment and other platforms within our environment using popular tools like Ansible (including Tower) and Terraform. Besides maintaining the Citrix ADC environment, I actively assist other groups and team members where needed on automating, documenting, and generally streamlining other services across the environment. More recent efforts involve learning Microsoft Azure, as well as how to leverage these new automation tools within Azure to build and manage resources for the organization.Current goals focus on improving my knowledge of DevOps generally, and to better my understanding of and capabilities within Azure, Terraform, and Ansible more specifically.

Is Architect, Technical Design And Delivery - CloudChildren'S Health Jan 2016 - PresentDallas, Tx, UsFirst and foremost, I am sole architect and primary SME and steward for our NetScaler Application Delivery platform. The NetScalers serve as the main ingress for almost all application traffic in the environment and offers L4 and L7 load balancing and content switching, DNS-based high availability, TLS termination and optimization, and many other functions. I research new features and methods and coordinate all testing, document all aspects of the platform for broad consumption, and develop standard service designs that Operations teams can use to onboard new services quickly and consistently. My work in this space strongly intersects with many other areas of our infrastructure and has proven invaluable in developing the knowledge and skills to contribute elsewhere.Secondly and more recently, my role on the new TDD Cloud team is to offer time and cycles to general solutions design for a variety of ongoing efforts. I work closely with fellow architects, app owners, and various other teams to help identify the scope of their needs and determine what processes and technologies best meet them. This may involve designing and building new services or platforms, refactoring and improving existing tools to meet new needs, writing new automation, or proposing new operational processes — I approach all with curiosity, empathy, and a desire to empower and improve -
Is Architect, Clinical Application Services - Epic Foundations TeamChildren'S Health Jul 2015 - Jan 2016Dallas, Tx, UsMy first and primary role on CAS was as architect and primary SME for our Epic EHR’s printing infrastructure. My first task was to clean up a months-old backlog of requests and trouble incidents that had developed in the gap of expertise between me and my predecessor. This burndown required several weeks of triaging, user call-back, and a variety of both technical and procedural fixes to complete. The final result was an empty ticket queue and many new pages of SharePoint documentation that support teams could use to improve printing support going forward. My secondary role was the support and eventual refactoring of various parts of the Epic EHR web systems stack. I brought forward my knowledge of Windows administration (IIS in particular) and NetScaler experience in order to design, propose, and ultimately begin executing a whole new server and load balancing architecture for Epic HyperspaceWeb, Interconnect, and printing services. I heavily documented the new designs and used the resulting document toolkit to educate and mentor colleagues on the new design, greatly improving their knowledge of the platform and, by extension, our collective ability to deliver and support it. -
