During my studies in the AAU University, gain a particular interest in process engineering for biofuel. Had the opportunity of developing two projects in this fields, one of them in the modeling of a continuous Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) unit in AspenPlus, where all the components of the process were designed and implemented, also the elemental analysis of the chosen feedstock (sewage sludge), the products and by-products obtained, and the respective energy balance of the whole process. Aspen Plus is a powerful tool that allows you to easily process petroleum therefore an optimization had to perform for the processing of biomass.The second project was on hydrotreating biocrude. It was divided into two parts, a kinetic model and experimental work, with the purpose to obtain biocrude without heteroatoms. The modeling part consists of two packed bed hydrotreating with the purpose of estimating the kinetic parameters of deoxygenation and denitrogenation for a two-stage upgrading of biocrude produced from HTL. In the model, several parameters were changed, such as temperature, pressure, hydrogen to oil ratio, hourly space velocity and the dimension of the reactors. In the experimental procedure, it was used micro-batch reactors to hydrotreat HTL miscanthus biocrude, under different temperatures. After the hydrotreating, the oil and the respective byproducts were characterized using the following equipment: Gas chromatography (GC-Gas) CHNS analysis, Gaschromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).

Blue Power Partners is a global consultancy and project development company with a dedicated focus on developing renewable energy, specialized in wind power. The reason why I joined this company was because of a project being developed in Brazil, needing someone that would speak the local language to translate it and work as a bridge between Brazil, Denmark and India ( Datacenter of expertise). My job started with organizing all the information in the many files, creating an Excel with a short resume of each PDF file, with the title and directory. Afterward, translating the main information required from the data analysis. I was in contact with people from two opposite sides of the world ( Brazil and India) and at the same time working with a team in Aalborg around this project. During this job, I learned how to prioritize and manage numerous tasks, the ability to work independently and define/describe process guidelines for my supervisors.

During high school, I started working with my father as a part-time job. He owns a Supermarket, where most of the time I would work as a cashier, so I would talk to other people, such as customers, employees, and product suppliers, allowing me to increase my communication skills and to become a more flexible person who can cope with others easily and adapt to different demands. As I grew older, gradually progress my position and started to oversee the entire business, where I started to take care of the logistics of the shop and made sure that the demand of the customer was being satisfied. All of this done while still studying, allowing me to get more familiar with the work environment and lead me to become a more resilient person and developing soft-skills like communication, commitment, being able to work with others, time management, organization, and flexibility.Later I had the opportunity the study abroad, therefore my work in the shop shifted to a more digital, where I started to take care of the social image of the supermarket (google maps, website), exchange e-mails with accountant, lawers and Tax and Customs Authority, to take care of legal issues.

During my studies at Environmental Enginnering, I had the opportunity to have an internship in one of the biggest NGOs in Portugal, ZERO. Where I was asked to analyze data regarding the emissions from thermoelectric plants for a review paper, evaluating the capacity production of plants and respective emissions, particularly of carbon dioxide (CO2), Sulfur dioxide (SO/SOx), Nitric oxide (NOx) and Arsenic (As). After that analysis, I began working on the creation of a database for the first electric mobility online platform. I am helping with the creation of the site, which will contain a simulator to aid the clients to decide which cars are best, charging points and the advantages of switching to an electric car. Being on an internship in this organization allowed me to have some professional experience and taught me to follow strict schedules, specific orders and to execute tasks, no matter how simple they may seem, in order to contribute to the bigger picture.
