The Photography Program at California Baptist University in Riverside, California explores the practice and theory of photography via technical understandings and methodological explorations of the photography medium as applied to commercial, fine art, and social practice. Through the introduction of narrative, conceptual development, and Christian worldview - students will acquire a unique stylistic aesthetic and photographic voice leading to a professional portfolio. Best practices, latest technologies, ideation, craft, and business acumen are embedded into the instruction and mentorship - all with the intention of sending graduates out to make an impact for the Kingdom.Preparing students with the technical skills and creative thought needed to produce professional imagery relevant to their area of focus. Students will develop a portfolio that reflects their personal vision while engaging with best practices in the medium. Emphasizing successful branding and implementing of their photography as a viable business model that is informed by today’s changing marketplace.

Since the release of Capture One PRO v3.7 in May of 2005, the transition to Digital Capture was realistic in the commercial space. As with most commercial catalog and advertising projects were utilizing Canon EOS DSLR cameras (1Ds MKII/ 1D MKII / 1Ds / 1D / 20D/ 10D). And very few productions were photographed with the PhaseOne, Immacon, Leaf, and Hasselblad medium format systems.In the San Francisco market, there were very few of us championing to shoot tethered. It was an exciting time to help with the migration of film shooters, and memory card shooters to utilize CaptureOne Pro to tether on set.
