The Privacy Engineering team is charged with building the tools and processes necessary to ensure that user data is processed and accessed in accordance with user expectations. We own our automated subject rights fulfillment pipelines, our Privacy-by-Design program, our Consent Management Platform, and we are key stakeholders in the companies access control policies, data retention policies, and many other initiatives. Etsy's mission is to Keep Commerce Human, and our team is on the front-lines of that mission. We work extremely collaboratively with partners in legal, product, marketing and data.

Led the Personalized Recommendations product team, we helped buyers find the right item using advanced ML models to increase engagement and help buyers feel that Etsy gives them a tailored experience for who they are and what they like. As a tech lead and eventually as an Engineering Manager, I helped the team modernize our recommendations product tech stack, ship many experiments that pushed the limits of our capabilities, and successfully collaborate with other teams to drive meaningful experiences that drove buyer conversion.

Built cutting-edge product features for both buyers and sellers. Served as a project and tech lead for many cross-functional product efforts, such as the ability for sellers to upsell with gift wrap, and nudges for buyers when viewed listing sales were about to expire.Shipped many experiments on the listing page, which is the most heavily-trafficked page on Etsy. Followed strong testing best practices, leaned heavily on observability and alerting, and constantly measured the success of our features through rigorous experimentation and analysis.
