About Hannah Frazer

TLDR: I care about people and want to make positive change. I am most passionate about ethical-based practices; my goal is to find an organization that will support its workers as well as the community. I am looking for a career opportunity where I can utilize my leadership and communication skills.My primary job in college was working with families amidst the foster care system with the goal of family reunification. I also worked on campus as an advocacy team leader. As an advocacy team leader, I met with many people in my community to work toward policy change, political engagement, and a high standard of living for community members. Throughout the past four years, I was also lucky enough to experience a community organizing internship. During this internship, I fostered relations with community members and organized members into steering committees based on common concerns with our community. During my senior year, I became a supplemental instructor for upper-level philosophy students taking the course, Symbolic Logic. In this position, I planned and facilitated an extra class session each week for students to join and continue their learning in this course. I found lots of fulfillment here. I have a strong ability to lead and influence students to participate in a safe learning space. Finally, I worked as a bartender for the past two years. Through this work, I found fulfillment by working with regulars and meeting new people each shift. I enjoyed the challenge that this job provided me as it was different from my daily routine and often presented me with new scenarios to help others.Volunteer work is not formally listed on my profile, but I frequently used my spare time to try new opportunities and experience the joy of learning from others in my community. I was lucky enough to travel to the U.S. / Mexico border for a week, along with two trips to Washington D.C. to work with new communities and work toward political reform. I also experienced many different sectors of work within my own community such as volunteering at a friend's church, walking dogs at the humane society, and participating in community workshops.I am driven and dedicated to the work I choose. I believe there is no better way to learn than by jumping into a space and absorbing knowledge from those around me. I center myself around inclusion and work hard to make sure all members of a project are getting the most out of their experience.
