Managed two teams, comprising 24 Technicians spanning an area from High Wycombe to Stevenage, serving 1.1M customers, concerning all water production and storage operations. Scheduled and coordinated operational activities from a variety of work streams with conflicting demands. and ensured business continuity by dynamically diverting resources to respond to urgent incidents, e.g. responding to unplanned site shutdowns, Responsible for lifting equipment (LOLER) and pressure assets (PSSR) compliance; chemical stock levels, orders and deliveries up to 7 tonnes (COSHH and DSEAR Regs). Responsible for maintenance completion and worked with leadership to pinpoint causes of deviation from the work schedule and implementing the learnings gained. Reported on the above responsibilities and presented to leadership weekly or monthly. Hosted weekly team meetings and cascaded updates to working practices, including delivering training and writing guidance documents. Developed Excel tools to streamline processes, data handling and reporting. For example, eliminated manual input by converting one datasource to a format required by a report.

- Maintenance Strategy Owned the asset database for all water production, storage and treatment sites, and represented the Maintenance Strategy team for bulk asset updates from capital projects, and in- house asset upgrade and decommissioning projects. Developed an Excel tool and implemented a new procedure to standardise the capture of nameplate data for newly commissioned assets. Delivered training on the use of the tool via workshops and one-on-one sessions with Project Managers and Project Engineers. Conducted treatment site visit with technicians to update the asset database, and assessed the impact of asset failure to determine maintenance frequency via scoring workshops. - Risk and Value - Facilitator Led workshops on root cause analysis, optioneering, and cost benefit analysis. Researched construction costs, OpEx costs, and lifespans of solutions highlighted from the optioneering phase. Presented to an interdepartmental board of senior management for acceptance. This included projects for new UV treatment installation and a contact tank refurbishment. - Storage Assets Composed pre-construction information for contractors (e.g. res membrane replacement, contact tank roof resurfacing and drainage works), building knowledge of NEC3 contracts. Produced business cases comparing the whole life cost options of repair, renewal, and rebuilding of treated water storage reservoirs. Presented documents to senior management. Formed Packages of works to address the backlog of recommendations produced by internal and external inspections for water towers, reservoirs and contact tanks. This included assessing costs vs the level of risk mitigated. Became experienced with Lean principles and led a green belt project. Represented the Asset Management team at HAZOP meetings for pump upgrade and UV treatment projects

Initiated mains renewal projects valuing £2M and spanning 10km of existing infrastructure. Coordinated the design from Concept and Definition stages of the project. This included presenting the scope to the design team, hosting design review meetings and value engineering workshops. Ultimately working with the project manager during Implementation. Produced design meeting summaries detailing all design and construction considerations, ensuring outcomes were clear and documented to avoid confusion or disputes at later stages. Acted as a liaison between the third party design contractors and the wider company. For example, resolving queries with the help of in-house hydraulic modelling, property and legal teams, as well as engaging with stakeholders such as the water quality, network and production teams to ensure buy-in from all parties, often with conflicting priorities. Provided technical direction using design standards and contributed to design guidance documents when solutions were being sought for novel engineering challenges. Implemented principles of Design Risk Management, gaining knowledge of CDM regulations. Provided technical scoring for the procurement process of valve covers and fire hydrants. Identified scope of mains renewals projects and gathered environmental and other utility data, water quality risks, construction risks, and business/priority customers lists. Assessed the design compliance of submissions by housing developers of newly built water infrastructure assets to be adopted into Affinity Water’s distribution network.
