A CHI (Israel) postdoctoral Fellowship at Ben Gurion University and a Fulbright Fellowship at Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) are among his science endeavors. His current affiliation is with the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (DMBG) @Inonu University in Turkey.Hikmet Geckil is an ardent blogger. He mainly writes on science, science education and policy. In 2009-2010, he carried out research at Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology –MIT as a Fulbright Senior Research Associate. He is the editor of the Biotechnology Journal (Wiley) and the Turkish Journal of Biology (TUBITAK).He is the founding director of the Center for Gifted and Talented and the Children’s University both at Inonu University. Dr. Geckil is also the founding chairman of the DMBG, the only department with fully English curricula @ Inonu University. Nominated by TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey), in 2012 he represented Turkey in COMSTECH as Chief Scientific Officer.
