Over the course of my career in information technology, I have had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of computing platforms, from mainframes to mini- and micro- computers, as well as large distributed networks and clusters. My experience spans many areas of specialization, including distributed transaction processing; network, database and application architectures, as well as high-availability and fault-tolerant clusters.My background spans several application domains, covering Risk Management, front, middle- and back office trading systems including FX, Money Market, Fixed Income and securities trading. I have also led many large system development projects, taking them from requirements analysis through implementation. I have managed several projects with technical staff sizes varying between four and thirty individuals, many including both on-shore and off-shore resources.I have worked with Java and JEE technologies for the last fourteen years, designing and implementing applications with core Java, as well as with Apache Tomcat, Websphere and Weblogic Application Servers, in stand-alone and clustered configurations. My experience also includes distributed messaging frameworks utilizing JMS, including MQ, Tibco EMS and Qpid. In addition, I have worked with Enterprise Service Bus products, including the Websphere Message Broker and the Oracle Service Bus.As an architect, I have designed both Service Oriented Architectures and Service Component Architectures for a variety of application domains. In addition, I have developed and taught a variety of technical courses for programmers, operations support, and end-users.
