My higher education began at Western Kentucky University where I graduated with a bachelor of science in mathematical economics and a minor in finance. From there I chose to continue my education at the University of Kentucky where I expect to graduate with a master of science in economics. Throughout my coursework in both degrees I've developed skills in data collection, data entry, and statistical modeling and causal inference. I've been allowed to develop these skills in courses on econometrics, environmental and resource economics, international trade, international finance, health economics, and advanced economic theory. Along the way, I've also been able to build skills in programs such as Stata and the Microsoft Office suite of programs, natural language with French, and programming languages including R, SAS, JavaScript, C, C++, and Go.In my current roll in data collection, I wear many hats. I take on outward-facing production duty for my branch once a month, serve as deputy for one of our collection modes, maintain programs developed by staff previously in my position in both SAS and R, develop new programs for use within the branch, maintain many datasets that are updated periodically, serve as substitute for several other staff members if they are out of office when time comes for their regular duties, and periodically go on fact-finding missions using automation to pull from existing data as is necessary.
