Can three simple words create a ripple effect that has the potential to transform millions of lives?I think so."Mom, I'm gay." Three words tearfully spoken by my son in 2017 that stopped time and changed the trajectory of my nuclear family's lives. I quickly realized the need for more resources, community, education, and a compassionate approach around all things LGBTQ. I decided to leverage my creative skills and life experience to create and share valuable and inspiring content that helps others embrace their LGBTQ children and themselves. Chrysalis was founded on the use of my writing and creative talents in the form of a content-rich website and bi-weekly podcast to serve the LGBTQ space and support parents and families who are on a similar journey as mine.It has grown to provide transformative, specifically LGBTQ DEIB consulting, coaching, and speaking services to organizations and groups that want to learn more about LGBTQ issues and promote inclusion and diversity within the workforce and out in the world. Through this innovative work, I aim to return compassion to organizational culture, proving a healthy bottom line and deeply caring about human beings are not mutually exclusive.Working with me is like visiting your favorite boutique: highly personalized, welcoming, comfortable, empowering, and a unique place where you always find a new perspective if not a full solution. My approach is calm, relatable, and fact-based. "Embrace the beauty in the messiness" is a mantra I often share. We can't affect change if we aren't willing to break things down to that messy, uncomfortable level and build back up from there. That's where understanding, connection, and growth occur!Additionally, I am the author of the NEW book, Parenting with Pride: Unlearn Bias and Embrace, Empower, and Love Your LGBTQ+ Teen, a book that offers practical and emotional guidance for parents and families.
