As a tire and lube technician at the Canadian Tire Auto Centre, my primary job involves performing crucial services for vehicles, including oil changes, tire repairs, and battery replacements. I also provide support to licensed mechanics by assisting with tasks such as brake maintenance, coolant flushing, and diagnoses. My experience has taught me the importance of being acutely aware of my surroundings and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment to prevent injury or exposure to hazardous substances. Working alongside licensed mechanics has also allowed me to pick up valuable tips and tricks when using tools to install or disassemble hardware.

When I am working for the Airworthiness Office of the Civil Aviation Department, the civil aviation authority of Hong Kong, as an intern, I helped manage airworthiness documents such as type certificates to meet the record-keeping requirement of regulations.Throughout the internship, I looked for chances and experiences to learn more. I asked my supervisor proactively to let me assist him in company and aircraft audits so I can understand how audits ensure compliance with regulations. I also helped my supervisor revise and update documents like Hong Kong Aviation Requirements to keep a consistent format across Civil Aviation Authority in different countries.

I was employed by the Kowloon Motor Bus Company (1933) Limited which is the largest bus company in Hong Kong as an intern in the project and administration department. Because I was an engineering student, I spent most of my time in the engineering office under this department.During my time with the company, I used Excel to analyze data from bus management programs and plot graphs to compare the performance of various products such as window films and tires before implementation. I also assisted in designing additional experimental setups. My results assisted engineers in making decisions. Using my writing skills, I drafted reports to present and identify service difficulties clearly so that my supervisors can follow up and send the report to the manufactory to rectify the problem. I also wrote instructions for guiding technicians in performing modifications in work orders.

I worked as an intern for Lumos. It is a multicultural start-up company that aims at improving the safety of cyclists by developing smart safety gear for them. Being part of the operation division my job is to ensure our products can be shipped to our customers on time. I react to any fault in our automatic fulfillment system promptly and arrange shipment manually. I also help monitor the inventory using Excel so that I can alert my colleagues when the stock level is too low.
