About Heather Holmes

Heather Holmes is an associate professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Utah and a visiting Fulbright Scholar at the University of Melbourne. Her research focuses on transdisciplinary investigations of processes that govern the transport of atmospheric pollutants. Specifically, her research group uses ground-based sensors, atmospheric models, and satellite remote sensing to investigate atmospheric physics, air pollution sources, and transport and dispersion ultimately to provide data for human health and public policy assessments. Specific research areas include environmental fluid dynamics, boundary layer meteorology, particulate dispersion and deposition, air quality, atmospheric chemistry, and health effects of air pollution. In particular, transdisciplinary research to investigate the chemical and physical properties of air pollution and their associated health impacts.
