About Hunter Horenstein
Hunter's professional career began in 2012 in independent baseball. He helped launch two separate teams in the Pacific Association, the San Rafael Pacifics in 2012, and the Sonoma Stompers in 2014. He made the move to MiLB with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Class A affiliate, Chicago Cubs) in 2016.Following the 2016 season, he joined the Erie SeaWolves (Double A affiliate, Detroit Tigers) as the team's Community Engagement Manager. Hunter was instrumental in the planning and execution of Alternative Facts Night, a promotion that gained the SeaWolves national attention and was nominated for a 2017 Minor League Baseball Yearly Award for Best Promotion. The SeaWolves were also announced as a nominee for Minor League Baseball's Larry McPhail Award, which recognizes the top promotional effort in MiLB.In May of 2018, Hunter returned to the Pelicans as Director of Fan Engagement, and contributed immediately with his help in the planning and execution of Deaf Awareness Night. Following the season, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum formally requested a game worn Pelicans American Sign Language jersey from the game to be delivered to Cooperstown, NY., an in-person presentation that Hunter facilitated. The promotion was also named Ballpark Digest's 2018 Promotion of the Year. In 2019, the Pelicans’ Derby Eve was named MiLB Promotion of the Month and nominated for a Golden Bobblehead Award. The team was also recognized by the Carolina League for Excellence in Marketing and Promotions. In 2021 Myrtle Beach won the Golden Bobblehead Award for Best Digital Activation. Pelicans Ballpark was named the top gameday experience in Class A baseball for the 6th consecutive year by Stadium Journey Magazine following the 2024 season.Hunter was elevated to Assistant General Manager for the Pelicans in January 2023. In his role he oversees social media, promotional, and in-game entertainment efforts.
