I was one of two mechanical design engineers that designed Products for the HyperSpike Line. As a mechanical design engineer, I was responsible for developing new products and solving problems encountered during production of new and old products. These responsibilities included the following:• I communicated with suppliers about new and old products, worked with them to resolve issues with part tolerances and supply.• I worked with suppliers to determine the best materials, corrosion resistant coatings, and manufacturing processes for our parts.• Lead the mechanical development of new projects and worked with other teams to produce a cohesive and complete product.• Managed the bill of material costs for products so they may be sold at reasonable prices while having good margins.• Tested products to ensure that they meet or exceed our customer’s standards and expectations. This included drop testing, water resistant testing (IPX4 standard), tensile strength testing, and military specification testing (MIL-STD-810G).• Prepared products for military RFIs ensuring they meet the required specifications. This included making changes to current products if necessary.

While working as an engineering intern I was responsible for helping design and test products. • Performed testing on heat exchangers, pumps, and couplings that allowed us to refine our designs and determine what would work best in our product. • Using R134a refrigerant helped design and test a two-phase flow system to cool high-poweredelectronics. • Worked with production and manufacturing engineers to design and perfect different fixtures. These fixtures included assembly fixtures, manual brazing fixtures, and test fixtures. • Worked with production to design work cells and the production layout taking into consideration themanufacturing steps, efficiency of the operators, and ergonomics.
