We are a market leader in classifieds in many countries. Our sites are amongst the biggest sites in their respective markets. I worked for Saltside first in Sweden, then as their first employee in India.I worked for Saltside for about 4 years in mainly two different roles. First as the Platform Team Lead where I oversaw ~8 other engineers and large technical architecture decisions. The platform team redesigned the backend from series of strangely interwoven monoliths to more flexible distributed system. We also built and designed Docker based infrastructure on AWS for our multiple markets.My second role was the SRE team lead where my team focused on improving production operations, deployments, and developer productivity. My last project was replacing our home grown Docker infrastructure with Kubernetes.Both roles were leadership and technical roles. I joined CloudAcademy on a per-project basis to write blogs posts, hold webinars, and create video courses. This was a great opportunity to share my infrastructure, programming, and DevOps-y knowledge with the world. It reinforced my love for teaching and helping others, plus I learned how to shoot, edit, and prepare video course!All materials are linked below. Built and designed product MVP using Ruby on Rails. Built and designed the second iteration using Ember.js and Sinatra backend. This is where I dove head first in SPA applications and perfected my Ruby & backend skills.Technologies: Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Sinatra, Heroku, Selenium, Ember.js.
