Quite literally working on the coolest project of my entire career

Operating as a Dev Manager for the front-end component of a sales forecasting/insights-driven internal tool that manages and co-ordinates analytics between Home Depot's various suppliers and their in-store as well as online merchandising managers.In my time with the company I have lead 3 major projects/initiatives:- Process and Organizational Restructure: Prior to joining, this division of Home Depot engineering was still operating in a "not-really Waterfall, not-really Agile" environment, due to a lack of familiarity and trust in Agile/Scrum. After evaluating the key issues the division was experiencing, I delivered a prospectus that obtained key stakeholder buy-in, not just from within Tech/Engineering, but among the business-facing departments in order to build faith in making an honest and complete jump toward Agile/Scrum in earnest. This initiative has shown proven results, enabling us to have a massive improvement in throughput and concurrency of product-based feature work, deployment frequency, reliability in code that ships to production, and a dramatic decrease in idle time of devs across all roles.- Product Rebuild: This team's prior build was starting to show its age with a lack of scalability/reliability, and a rebuild was starting to become clear. Instead of bolting on/refactoring elements to the old app (built in the original version of AngularJS) I acted as an evangelist for how React would be a solid technical foundation to build the UI on, and help assist with the hiring goals our leadership team established for the Product Development department in 2021, due to React having the largest market share at the time. I also designed the architecture and segmentation of all of the supporting microservices, back-end APIs inclusive.- Engineering Metrics: I evangelized the use of DORA metrics to solve for how to measure the Prod Dev department's success, and successfully implemented the initiative with the use of the CodeClimate metrics tool.

Operated as a development manager for a technical team responsible for delivering an extremely efficient and effective search engine algorithm and customer-facing API, built for e-commerce applications, developed in Java on top of the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana). I collaborated with our Product Owners on how to facilitate our user research and feature requests into JIRA epics, breakdown of user stories, and preparing technical requirements for my team to plan and deliver on.

Operated as a senior front-end developer/technical lead for an out-of-the-box UI solution for e-commerce platforms, based in riot.js, but with deployable components targeting all the various front-end component frameworks (Angular, React, Vue). My team helped design and implement easy-to-use UI components that were automatically connected to our Search and Product Taxonomy APIs, making it simple for our users to throw together an online storefront. I also lead small front-end teams that were responsible for white-glove consulting services, with the objective of assisting our users' development teams implement our UI product with their existing code-base successfully.

Worked very closely w/ a team of developers and digital designers, primarily on running A/B tests with Optimizely, prior to migrating to Google Optimize and using that for the last year of my tenure, as well as architecting contemporary tech solutions to be used by FreshBooks' Marketing department. Notable projects and responsibilities included:- demoing and eventually integrating various A/B testing frameworks with the public facing website in addition to the customer-facing SPA (Ember.js), as well as writing and maintaining a large majority of the split tests across a vast number of feature additions and user journey tweaks- scoping and architecting the migration from the former non-responsive/non-accessible public website, to a contemporary solution (launched 2016).- migrating the legacy stock WP blog to a modern Laravel-based MVC solution (launched 2017)- implementing AMP page support (launched 2017)- writing a React + Redux solution with Server-side Rendering, porting the previous solution for the public website, seeing an increase on Google PageSpeed score across both mobile and desktop from about ~60% to about ~87% average (2018)

Working on Nissan/Infiniti 2013 additions, as well as developing new components and pages for Nissan/Infiniti desktop, mobile, and promotional sites.

Designed custom content components for the Magento platform, and then developed out a front-end prototype to hand off to our back-end developers for integration.

Worked in an amazing team as a Junior Developer for my introduction to the industry. Contributed to many great sites including the Honda.ca family, World Financial Center, Brookfield.com and subsidiary sites, and many more.
