About Linda Hicks M.Ed.,R.D/N, Otr/L

I am an Occupational Therapist and a Registered Dietitian licensed to practice both disciplines in Florida. I am skilled in patient care with experience treating a wide spectrum of orthopedic, neurological, psychological and cognitive diagnoses. In addition I have experience working in a variety of treatment environments including acute care, outpatient, SNF, ILF/ALF and home health care. As a Registered Dietitian I have extensive experience in clinical dietetics and food service management. I addition I have worked in nutrition research at Baylor College of Medicine and at the University of Texas at Houston. Throughout my professional career, every position I have held has included some aspect of teaching or developing curricula or educational materials. As an occupational therapist I have developed and conducted inservices for staff as well as designed educational materials for distribution to patients and caregivers. As a dietitian I have had experience in teaching at a graduate level at Texas Woman’s University as an Affiliation Faculty Member and at the University of Texas as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor. I also have an extensive technical background in instructional design, technical writing, training and consulting in the IT business sector. I have sound understanding of and experience in applying adult and e-learning theory in blended educational environments.
