In my former work as a college warden, I used my good organizational and interpersonal abilities to respond to students' requests, settle complaints, and provide a positive customer experience. My ability to negotiate has come in very handy when managing the same function. Being the point of contact for young students while communicating their needs to upper management was challenging sometimes. We couldn't always meet their needs right away because it required documentation and approval from many departments. With persistent communication, follow-up, and negotiation efforts, I was able to persuade them that their requests were on the priority list, allowing them to be comfortable that their voice was never ignored. At the same time, I needed to strike a balance between my commitment to elevating their request and keeping work order and good connections with management. By paying attention to the needs of the students and the facilities around me, I was able to come up with several proposals to improve the college facilities. I brought these recommendations up during monthly meetings and communicated directly with the unit representative. Through idea collaborations, we managed to get some of the recommendations approved to enhance the welfare of students. These included CCTV installations for safety needs, roofed bicycle parking, renovations of leisure rooms, study rooms, and prayer rooms. It was a great joy for me to witness my alma mater college residential building undergo massive refreshments in terms of its facilities.While working in the same position, I also obtained practical experience in graphic design. With the help of my head multimedia unit, I started from scratch exploring Adobe Illustrator. Many thanks to him. I created posters for our various social media channels. The process has taught me to accept and deal with criticism. I was a novice in design, therefore I needed a lot of input to work on to refine my ideas.I am job hunting while improving my proficiency in Chinese and Arabic. This helps me better understand foreign cultures and histories. Through language exchange, I discovered the power of bridging gaps and connecting with people from all walks of life. I've learned that persistence is key to acquiring new skills. I believe it's an essential trait to excel in the workplaceI am excited to utilize my transferable skills to contribute to a prospective company.
