Excited to embark on this 6-month internship journey with CAAS as a procurement intern. Keen to practically explore the different areas in procurement. Particularly, the difference and similarities between government and private sector.Interim Milestone:Gained a greater understanding of Government procurement methodology. Notable aspects are the strict adherence to guidelines, strong emphasis on Value for Money (VFM), and data-driven strategic decision-making. Recently, experienced the procurement operations. It was heavy and requires much innovation, which led to our team embarking on various projects to improve the operations. Such as improving the database for operations, including the usage of tracking, excel functions, dashboard, and Macros. Streamlining the operations via updating and reducing the forms. Also, the use of the government open-source AIBot. Creating an AIBot to act as a guide for the 500+ procurement practitioners in CAAS. Looking forward to more projects.

During my service, I was assigned to the position of administrative assistant in the Training Branch of Pulau Tekong Headquarters. Here, my superior and I worked together to produce scoring systems and dashboards for two competitions. The project involves monthly data collection and calculation of nearly a thousand personnel. I performed the data collection, calculation, process automation, and reporting of the competition status to the various stakeholders, which required daily communication and maintenance of the Excel workbook. It was a fulfilling and challenging journey considering the limited hardware and restricted communication, However, I learned a lot during this period, such as effective communication, presentation, and responsibility.

DB Schenker Fair & Exhibition (F&E) is a major player in the logistics sub-industry that deals with international and local fairs, ranging from sports and textiles to business. They manage events such as ITMA 2019 in Barcelona, Propak Vietnam 2019, and Money 20/20 in Singapore.During my internship, I was involved in the overall planning and documentation process for fairs, particularly for ITMA 2019 in Barcelona. My responsibilities included arranging sea freight shipments for 50+ exhibitors, as well as contacting potential exhibitors.This internship taught me valuable lessons such as the importance of communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and competitiveness in the industry. It gave me a glimpse of what to expect in regular working life and how to interact with colleagues and clients. I hope this experience will be beneficial to my future endeavors. Most people wouldn't see working in Dominos as a worthy profile post, but I insist on displaying this work experience as it was my first ever job and therefore its memories are important for me to reflect upon.I was a Pizza maker in a Domino's outlet for about 5 months during my school holiday after my O levels. The job includes fast-paced making of pizzas due to the 30-minute guarantee from Domino. It was challenging, but fun and physically fulfilling.Plus, now I'm able to make pizzas at my own comfort.
