After years of watching how times are messed with in open water swimming, a system has been developed to keep time electronically.Always had the dream of starting something for myself, literally the hobby that became a job, all the passion that came together and gave me another dream (living abroad)!We provide timekeeping for almost all open water swimming competitions in the Netherlands, in collaboration with the KNZB. We can also regularly be found participating in other sports. We mainly focus on the Netherlands and Belgium, but due to the large network we can actually cover the whole world.In addition to timekeeping, we are also increasingly acting as event management and therefore coordinate a complete event from A to Z. In the spring of 2015 I was asked to train a new timer in Dubai in the use of Mylaps timing equipment.It soon became apparent that there was a click between me and the owner of HopaTec. We decided to join forces and also launch the online registration platform in Europe.When Corona broke out and the world turned upside down, I was asked to come to Dubai. The sporting events still took place here.HopaTec took over one of the largest timers in the region, Servee, the owner of HopaTec and a good friend of mine who I had worked with for years at Mylaps asked me to do this with the three of us.The ultimate opportunity, still SPORTS TIMES in the Netherlands, living abroad and continuing to pursue my hobby (work), what more could you want?

After working at HopaSports for a few months, the same friend from Mylaps asked me if I was interested in more. He was setting up a timing branch together with another sporting events agency and wanted to do this together with me.In short, we will continue to do everything I already do with SPORTTIMES in the Netherlands and what we already did together at HopaSports, we just call ourselves differently now.Large customers spent more time with us, and we managed to retain new (large) customers. A great time and learned a lot.Unfortunately, I also learned negative things, that when you work with a friend and money comes into play, ultimately no one can be trusted. Completely unforeseen and unplanned, I left this company at the end of 2023.

We have had a ThermoSmart hanging on the wall for several years now. Because there was a defect in this thermostat, I contacted ThermoSmart.Given the measures surrounding the Corona virus, there are no sporting events for the time being. So SPORTTIMES is on hold for a while, but is still very much alive.To kill time and generate income, I now (temporarily) work for ThermoSmart and help ThermoSmart users with questions. A company with a lot of potential to which I would like to contribute.We soon entered into a collaboration with a Greek partner for which I was the full contact. I translated the website and software. Together with the partner we developed new packaging.A very nice time, but unfortunately I was not able to complete the contract because at a certain point invoices were no longer paid and I therefore had to stop the work, unfortunately.Meanwhile, ThermoSmart has also been declared bankrupt.

Just after I started with SPORTTIJDEN, I was asked by Mylaps to come and time for them as well. The combination between SPORTTIJDEN and Mylaps has been working great from now on. When SPORTTIJDEN has no events, I regularly work for Mylaps. Sometimes I am hired as Sporttijden, sometimes employed by Mylaps.

Smart Fit takes fitness in the Netherlands to another level. Training is training, but the contract you have is completely different with SmartFit.I heard about this and thought I wanted to be there, they were looking for someone to set up the first club and I was allowed to do that.From an old dilapidated building where the vagrants slept, to a fully functioning fitness center in a few months, AMAZING.Hiring and training a full team, all pulling in the same direction, PROUD.We created something fantastic together. The members were very enthusiastic.After a year I had to hand over the baton to the new manager, my job was over, but I can look back on a great time.

After being a fitness manager at Healthcity in Rotterdam Kralingen for 2.5 years, I was given the opportunity to grow.I became responsible for a team of 39 people and a membership of just over 1000. The club in Papendrecht had to grow and if that did not work, it would be converted to BasicFit.My job was to keep the team together, keep it positive and retain and recruit members.No matter how hard we worked on it with the team, I was unfortunately soon told that we had to switch from a high-end club to a budget club. That meant informing my team that they would soon be on the streets.Informing members that a lot was going to change.A very unpleasant time, but we put our shoulders to the wheel and try to turn it into something positive. Unfortunately, for me, this meant that I was also allowed to leave a week before the club reopened.

I covered the entire sport of the HealthCity branch in Rotterdam Kraling, from the group lessons to everything that happened in the swimming pool, but also the fitness and personal training.Our team consisted of approximately 30 trainers and group lesson instructors in total.During my time at HealthCity we made a complete transition, we started working with LAPT for which I of course also followed all the training. I trained my team in a different approach and coached them in setting up their own PT business.It was a tough time, but a very nice time to look back on, seeing the many positive customers every day. So nice to see your team grow.

During the setup of Capital Sports in Zwijndrecht, we had quite a lot to ask of our automation system. We had opted for the new SAG system - Coach 3.Due to the intensive collaboration, I was asked if I would like to work for SAG after my project contact. We were one of the first to use the new system and SAG asked me if all their other customers also wanted to transfer.So I visited the customers who had Coach2, made an inventory of whether it needed to be renewed, what could be done better or differently and made a suitable quotation for the customer.On the day of the switch, I was present to ensure the process ran smoothly and, in particular, to reassure the customer, because converting your entire automation is no small feat.Of course I provided the team training and support for all of this.

A colleague of mine at David Lloyd was given the opportunity to have a new fitness center built and manage it for Capital Sports.She asked me to come with her to support her during the final phase of construction, put together a team and get everything working.A very long story short, without mentioning all the challenges, I get a huge kick out of seeing my team working on our customers after a few months. The first children to receive swimming lessons in the pool and to see people recuperating with their physio in the fitness and swimming pool.It was only a short time, but a very fun and educational time. Would love to do something like that again!

I joined David Lloyd in Rotterdam as a fitness trainer. In addition to providing traditional fitness instruction, we also gave mini group lessons.Because they saw a future in me at David Lloyd, I was given the opportunity to obtain my NASM life 2 and 3, which means I can promote myself as an international Personal Trainer. Unfortunately, this was an intern course so I never received the certificate.Due to my background in the swimming pool and the training I have undergone, I quickly started giving swimming training and swimming lessons. We introduced this together with a small group of other swimming enthusiasts at all David Lloyd branches in the Netherlands, a great success.

Juventa had their camps in several locations, one of these was at Center Parcs Port Zélande. In the preseason of 2006 I was ultimately responsible for this camp.We took care of the rental of boats and pedal boats every day. We organized trips for our guests in the tent camp, and had a large survival course through which we sent people.We also managed the camp, so it came down to shopping, cleaning and all those kinds of tasks.

From my time at Health Club Fitness World, I was asked to introduce the National Health Plan together with a small team.The National Health Plan was a collaboration between various health insurers and the fitness industry.Because people demonstrably exercise (are healthy), they received a discount on their premium.With this information, we approached gyms throughout the Netherlands to connect them. Before that, I visited the club's management and trained the team in using the platform.

Health Club Fitness World was way ahead of its time, it was THE fitness center of the region. During my CIOS training, I did an internship here and learned a lot of things myself that they did not yet know at school.Through the future vision of Remco Stekelenburg (the owner), I also came into contact with many important figures from the fitness industry.After my internship, I work in the evenings in addition to my training. A very nice time to look back on, learned a lot, got to know beautiful people.
