I am a senior engineer on the Profiles domain team. We delivered our first major product release in Q1 of 2021, a complete rewrite of the Dice Candidate Profile using modern technology and practices. I led the front-end development of that project, guiding all of the major decisions including technology choices, software architecture, delivery architecture, and testing patterns.In addition to delivering front-end features, I develop AWS microservices using TypeScript, design and deploy AWS delivery pipelines and runtime infrastructure, train other engineers on TypeScript and Web best practices, mentor more junior team members, and provide consultation for other teams.In the process of delivering product features, I have spearheaded several tech initiatives and developed new techniques for the organization:- Pioneered DHI’s first Node/TypeScript domain microservice- Developed a framework for building TypeScript microservices (used throughout the Profiles team's back-end stack)- Led the development of a major product release using several new front-end technologies (e.g. Web Components and Storybook) while improving on existing use of others (Cypress, TypeScript)- Currently assisting the Design, Front-End Guild, and Architecture teams with the conception and development of a DHI UI Design System and Component Library- Ongoing contribution to DHI's UI architecture strategyIn Q1 of 2021 I presented two separate front-end talks for the DHI Technology conference:- Components First: Building from the Bottom Up (on component-based front-end architecture, starting with small components)- Accessibility-Driven Development (on integrating Accessibility concerns into the earliest stage of feature design and integrating Accessibility concerns throughout front-end tests)

CalTopo is a sophisticated backcountry mapping tool that is currently developed and maintained by a small team of only three people. Search and Rescue, firefighting teams, and backcountry recreationalists use CalTopo to create highly custom, data-rich topographic maps by combining base layers, data overlays, custom terrain shading and more. Maps can be exported to GPS devices and mobile apps.Currently, CalTopo is building a mobile app for both Android and iOS that brings navigation, track recording, and offline map downloads into its suite of services. I am currently working on developing this app, using both modern web development and native app technologies. After the initial release of the app is complete, my focus may shift to updating the existing web app, adding features and improving the user experience.

Principal UI developer, pairing with and training full-stack developers on project teams to create modern web applications, primarily using AngularJS. Developed the CICD pipeline for single page apps, including architecture, version control workflow, development tools, code standards, build toolchain and release process. We use NPM for dependency management, Gulp for the build process, Karma/Jasmine for unit testing and Jenkins for automation.Additionally, full-stack prototyping for analytics projects using Angular/D3 with Node/Express on the back end, communicating with multiple data sources.
