This unique internship provided invaluable experience of the US culture and golf industry. At this exclusive club I encountered traditional shop and outside operations experience. Alongside this, I helped in tournament admin and received responsibility for organising a very successful golf event for the members. I also gained experience in coaching where I helped with numerous kids camps. My outside operations role required an extremely high level of customer service and customer relations where I was given the responsibility of shift leader on multiple occasions. As an intern I was required to attend weekly departmental staff meetings. Also, throughout the summer I was able to experience two very big and successful Member-Guest tournaments as well as many other well organised events. During my free time I enjoyed playing golf with members helping to develop relationships within the work environment.

During my placement at the world-renowned 5* golf resort, I majorly enhanced my understanding of the golf industry. My responsibilities included opening and closing the golf academy on a day-to-day basis, retail, bookings, club repairs and other general golf operations. The role required a very high standard of customer service, knowledge and forward thinking. ‘Concept’ software was used to complete sales and manage bookings for custom fittings, lessons and tee times. I had the pleasure of working during the NATO summit where I experienced extreme levels of security and was required to show high levels of professionalism and discretion. Furthermore, I worked at the Handa Wales Open 2014 where I interacted with the players, caddies and coaches whilst maintaining the range to a professional standard. This experience developed my skills in organisation, punctuality, communication and customer service.
