As Department Chair, Hoffman developed and taught relevant, rigorous curriculum for Drawing & Design Fundamentals, Digital Design Fundamentals, Communication Design & Production, Digital Photography, Education Foundation and Methods courses, Art History, and Senior Portfolio/Show.Additional responsibilities: Faculty hiring and administrative review, Coordinated instructional and curriculum articulation activities with Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) and Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD), Coordinated department efforts with Offices of Admissions and Advising to promote student recruitment, retention and job placement, Provided department leadership for integrated use of Blackboard and Angel learning management systems.

Concordia elementary & middle school, part of LUMIN Schools in Milwaukee, WI was without an art program or teacher. When they approached Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) to develop a partnership program, Hoffman jumped into the deep end and took it on. She developed the art program from the ground up: designing classroom space, ordering materials, writing curriculum, and instituting a collaborative arrangement whereby CUW art education students gained hands-on teaching experience in the classroom while earning classroom credit toward their degree.

Hoffman served as graphic designer and Art Director, producing a full range of marketing materials for print, web, interactive, radio, television, and outdoor. As a senior-level client contact, she maintained agency standards of creative excellence, timeliness, and profitability while achieving clients’ goals.

WCTC provides a challenging, dynamic learning environment for individuals interested in mastering the skills and technology for a successful career in Communication Design. Hoffman served as a member of the WCTC adjunct faculty during the 2004-05 academic year. She provided wll-prepared, lively, content-rich instruction to help students master core abilities accurately and efficiently.

Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin

After three years teaching art at the elementary/middle school grades in Whitefish Bay, Hoffman moved up to the high school to address decreasing enrollment. She quickly overhauled and updated the curriculum, adjusted course offerings and infused creativity through a combination of high energy and hard work. Within three years, enrollment rose to support two full time teaching positions, and eventually increased to 2.5.
