Brand leadership professional with a strong passion and focus on agriculture and building community and connection.Having grown up on a farm and obtaining a degree in commerce from the University of Saskatchewan, Lesley’s heart led her to the branding side in the agricultural sector — through various sales and branding positions at Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, Cargill AgHorizons, Alberta Treasury Branch, Farm Credit Canada, and WorkHorse Hub. Using her entrepreneurial spirit and the skills developed through her agribusiness career, Lesley created her own snack food business and turned Martin Munchies from an idea into a thriving reality. Lesley is the head and heart behind the blog, High Heels & Canola Fields with the goal of building community, creating conversation and help make agriculture stronger. In December 2015, she started her blog in hopes to dispel myths and bring consumers and farmers together. In 2017, she expanded her reach by joining What The Farm podcast which explores various topics in food and farming through real life conversations. Lesley has been a leader in advocating for mental health in agriculture. She has been part of the Bell Let's Talk campaign that has raised over $149 million dollars for mental health community initiatives across Canada and co-founded the Do More Agriculture Foundation, a Canadian registered charity solely focused on mental health in agriculture, whose mission is to break barriers, support all Canadian farmers in taking care of their mental health and bring much needed resources to the industry. Since its inception in 2018, the foundation has trained thousands of farmers across Canada in mental health. She was recognized by the Regina YWCA with the Women of Distinction award and the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for this work.Lesley is a committed and passionate brand leader. She conceives and deploys creative proposals to overcome challenges and advance organizational measurables. Motivating and enthusiastic mentor and coach, she instills ownership to engage successful performance-driven teams.
