As Topcoder worked on modernizing their services, I worked as both an engineer and product manager on teams developing the new products. After various restructures of the organization, I pivoted to focus on decreasing costs and risks, and simplifying of the core systems.• Greenfield development of a new SaaS platform intended to extend the gig work model to enterprise markets. Onboarded 300 organizations to the new platform. Created dev experience that could onboard new team members in < 30 minutes. • Led product efforts on a variety of integration projects, both on internal systems and plugins from external SaaS providers into our products.• Decreased cloud costs by 25% by researching AWS environments to identify areas where services could be decommissioned. • Researched and updated Auth0 environments, removing high-risk implementations by migrating away from deprecated features.

Managed development of a modernized SaaS replacement for an existing product in the public governance market:• Product Owner for a remote multi-national dev team, modernizing the product's tech stack from: Domino/jQuery, To: .NET/React, • Designed and delivered an iterative approach to the platform migration, modernizing one slice of the tech stack at a time to mininize disruption to the customers.Maintained and enhanced the legacy BoardDocs applications, a board governance solution for public government entities:• Tech Stack: React / jQuery / Domino / AWS• Major efforts included: Migration from bare metal to virtualized servers. Refactored search system, views, and indexing to improve performance and increasing scalability by 10x. Migrated front-end from jQuery to React, reducing page response times to 20% of original. • KTLO for a SaaS serving over 4500 school districts and cities.

• Developed a SaaS application for streamlining policy publishing in public schools. Launched in 2013. Grew to over 2000 organizations by 2017. Provided data import processes to transition from legacy systems. Expanded the customer base of the BoardDocs ecosystem by 500% • Built an Event Management system used for 100+ events, from sales webinars to full conference registration, scheduling, and communication for multiple organizations. • Supported BoardDocs, a governance solution for public government entities, focused on K-12 school districts. Managed data imports and developed reusable import scripts. Coded online help systems, policy integrations, and product enhancements. Owned all internal tools, including websites, intranet, login systems, file libraries, reports, IT tracking, and Salesforce integrations.

Developed web service based BI dashboards for ongoing projects.• BC/BS of New Jersey – Analyzed Lotus Notes/Domino environment, recommending solutions for migrating to modern platforms including estimated scope of work on all applications. • Renewable Energy Startup – Designed and developed data gathering infrastructure, reporting tools, and SCADA systems for small-scale portable hydro-electric turbines.

Senior member of technical staff focused on operations, reliability, and strategy for web application platforms:• Re-architected both web applications and server infrastructure for SharePoint farms, resulting in 80% performance improvements.• Decreased Lotus Notes footprint from 6000 applications down to 46, primarily through consulting with stakeholders on business process changes, tied to migration of technical functions to Microsoft tools, resulting in a 50% cost reduction to operate the platform.• Hands-on tech lead for a mixed team of on-site and offshore contract resources responsible for application development, end user support, and operation support of applications and servers.• UI Design and front-end coding for custom applications.

After a merger of two banks, successfully integrated Lotus Domino as a new technology platform, including its applications and server infrastructure, into the larger corporate IT group. Thereafter was responsible for architecture, development, and support of Lotus Notes/Domino applications. In the process, improved system stability, resulting in a significant reduction in support costs and required staffing.
