I facilitate workshops for corporate and non-profit clients centering on creating inclusive cultures that celebrate diversity. JCA's aim is to create an Arkansas where every voice is heard, every person is valued, and everyone has a fair chance to succeed. My team and I support this mission through workshops, cultural assessments, storytelling, and youth leadership programming.

The Yarn is a storytelling organization. We amplify voices, build understanding and create opportunities for human connection within our community. We plan storytelling events around powerful themes like adoption, immigration, coming out, etc. and coach local citizens on how to captivate an audience with their personal story.-We consistently sell out many of our shows.-We reached over 1,000 community members in our first year of storytelling.-We have helped over 300 storytellers tell their stories so far and the vast indicated that they would recommend the Yarn’s experience.-Our local partners have indicated that our shows bring in an additional $1,500 in food/bev sales.Find out more at https://www.theyarnstorytelling.com/

As Director of Local Programming and Regional Outreach, my duties included:• Facilitating field service curriculum, leadership development and team building activities for masters-level students.• Building and maintaining relationships between the Clinton School and community partners.• Strategically working with faculty and staff to continue to to produce an effective, supportive and challenging learning environment for future public servants.

At the Human Rights Campaign, I supported a robust and vast volunteer structure through training and developing volunteers into strong leaders, ambassadors and fundraisers. I supported the communities through facilitating various leadership development and team building workshops including the Interpersonal Leadership Assessment (ILS), the DISC assessment, and the Thomas-Kilman Instrument (TKI) assessment. I also worked in collaboration with my colleagues to create content for new skill-building modules on the topics of role-fit analyses, team development, conflict management, recruitment and fundraising through story sharing. I served as manager on various projects while working at the Human Rights Campaign. My project lead credentials include restructuring the Board Development process, marketing and content for an annual volunteer leadership retreat and workshops, and providing content and structure to a three-part webinar series on Diversity and Inclusion. In addition to my training and development work, I created new recruitment tools, including a volunteer recruitment and appreciation videos (attached below) and new volunteer handbook, as well as produced the annual volunteer appreciating awards ceremony.

During my fellowship at Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, I served as the primary qualitative data collector for a child health needs assessment commissioned by Arkansas Children's Hospital. My data collection methods included one-on-one interviews with key stakeholders in the Arkansas child health arena, as well as nine focus groups of parents, teachers, administrators and health care providers throughout the state. Attached is a report outlining the results of the needs assessment including recommendations moving forward.

Supporting teams of graduate students through their first-year field service projects; facilitating classroom discussions and small group meetings; conducting research toward curriculum development.

Developed and facilitated research-based project, gathering information on the trends of educational choices made by teenage girls in Arkansas; research involved developing and administering surveys and culminated in a written report, supplementing the updated 1973 Report of the Status of Women in Arkansas.

Developed a coalition of educators, local PCI Media Impact employees and the Saint Lucian Ministry of Education to support a student-led curriculum addressing social change through theater, film and radio; created a curriculum for the program; co-lead a teacher training retreat as a final step to rolling out the program.

Facilitated dialogue-to-action workshops concerning race issues, developed sustainable curriculum, and provided facilitator training to faculty and staff.

Co-managed the Youth United program through providing programmatic support and facilitating action planning sessions for Habitat for Humanity affiliates throughout the country. Ms. Trudell further supported the Youth and Campus Programs department through managing State Farm grants given as scholarships through the Learn and Build program. This program involved week-long youth build trips emphasizing team work and service learning, which Ms. Trudell co-led. As a final contribution to this team, Ms. Trudell authored an advocacy guide for youth.

Managed a team of eleven corps members for ten months of direct service projects throughout the United States, partnering with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Galvaston City Hall, Alabama Homelessness Coalition and the Sacramento School System. Projects ranged from providing support ranging from streamlining the building permit application process post-Hurricane Ike to tutoring at-risk youth to rebuiding homes in Mississippi post-Hurrican Katrina.

Taught playwriting and produced student plays from youth ranging from 5th to 12th grade in the DC metro area. Ms. Trudell also worked with students as a teacher, dramaturg and director to develop and stage student work.

Provided administrative support to all areas of the Theater Programming department including payroll preparation, audition management and talent travel coordination. Additionally, Ms. Trudell developed show budgets, processed vendor payments and provided support for touring productions.
