About Hilary L. Chapple (She, Her)

I am a queer woman advocate with lived experience of homelessness. I have had a long-standing interest in and commitment to enhancing the quality of life for members of LGBTQ2S community and populations impacted by poverty and homelessness. In my work I engage and collaborate with community agencies and nonprofits and I am a lived experience member of two national research teams, ‘Women’s Homelessness’ and ‘Aging in the Right Place’ and two Calgary Grassroots Committees. I was a co-researcher on the study ‘Beyond Housing’ and I am featured in the documentary. Recently, I have led my own research project on the intersection of sexual minority status and homelessness from which I have developed a training toolkit based on principles of trauma-informed care, inclusivity and diversity. I have had an interest to teach this Nationwide once I have developed a fully functional day and half Training Program. I am currently offering a presentation to interested agencies on how to be more Inclusive of #LGBTQ2S Homeless
