About Hilary Neve
I am a National Teaching Fellow and GP who worked at the Peninsula Medical School since 2002 where my roles included Director of Professionalism, Small Group Learning and Social Engagement. and Associate Head of School. I remain an Honorary Professor, contributing to teaching and education research, as well as continuing my work as a GP at the Adelaide and St Levan Surgeries, Plymouth. I am deeply concerned about the climate emergency and its devastating and increasing impact on the health of patients and the public in UK and across the world and am an active member of Health for Extinction Rebellion https://healthforxr.com/.My research and publications have focused on threshold concepts, the hidden curriculum, capability, shared decision making, multi-morbidity consultations and Problem Based Learning. My previous healthcare and health education work in Pemba, Tanzania, Southern Sudan and Kenya, my recent work with refugees in Athens, Serbia and Plymouth and my MEd in Primary Health Care as well as nearly 30 years as a DeepEnd GP all inform my continued interest in global and planetary health, inequalities in health and leadership.
